Ἦχος πλ. α´ Χριστός ἀνέστη ἐκ νεκρῶν, θανάτῳ θάνατον Hreestos anesti ek nekron, thanato thanaton πατήσας, καί τοῖς ἐν τοῖς μνήμασι ζωήν χαρισάμενος pateesas, ke tis en tis mneemasi zoeen charisamenos (τρίς). Ἀντίφωνον α´ –  Ἦχος β´ 1 Ἀλαλάξατε τῷ Κυρίῳ πᾶσα ἡ γῆ. 2 Ψάλατε δή τῷ ὀνόματι αὐτοῦ δότε δόξαν ἐν αἰνέσει αὐτοῦ.  Εἴπατε τῷ Θεῷ· Ὡς φοβερά τά ἔργα σου. 3 Πᾶσα ἡ γῆ προσκυνησάτωσάν Σοι καί ψαλάτωσάν Σοι.       Ταῖς πρεσβείαις τῆς Θεοτόκου, Σῶτερ, σῶσον ἡμᾶς. Ἀντίφωνον β´ – Ἦχος ὁ αὐτός 1 Ὁ Θεός οἰκτειρήσαι ἡμᾶς καί εὐλογήσαι ἡμᾶς. Ἐπιφάναι τό πρόσωπον αὐτοῦ ἐφ' ἡμᾶς καί ἐλεήσαι ἡμᾶς. 2 Τοῦ γνῶναι ἐν τῇ γῇ τήν ὁδόν Σου ἐν πᾶσιν ἔθνεσι τό σωτήριόν Σου. 3 Ἐξομολογησάσθωσάν Σοι λαοί, ὁ Θεός, ἐξομολογησάσθωσάν Σοι λαοί πάντες.     Σῶσον ἡμᾶς, Υἱὲ Θεοῦ, ὁ ἀναστὰς ἐκ νεκρῶν, ψάλλοντάς σοι· Ἀλληλούϊα. Δόξα... Καὶ νῦν... Ὁ Μονογενὴς Υἱός... Ἀντίφωνον γ´ –  Ἦχος πλ. α´ 1 Ἀναστήτω ὁ Θεός, καί διασκορπισθήτωσαν οἱ ἐχθροί αὐτοῦ, καί φυγέτωσαν ἀπό προσώπου αὐτοῦ οἱ μισοῦντες αὐτόν. 2 Ὡς ἐκλείπει καπνός, ἐκλιπέτωσαν, ὡς τήκεται κηρός ἀπό προσώπου πυρός.  Οὕτως ἀπολοῦνται οἱ ἁμαρτωλοί ἀπό προσώπου τοῦ Θεοῦ καί οἱ δίκαιοι εὐφρανθήτωσαν.  3 Αὕτη ἡ ἡμέρα, ἥν ἐποίησεν ὁ Κύριος, ἀγαλλιασώμεθα, καί εὐφρανθῶμεν ἐν αὐτῇ. Σῶσον ἡμᾶς, Υἱέ Θεοῦ, ὁ ἀναστάς ἐκ νεκρῶν, ψάλλοντάς σοι, Ἀλληλούϊα. Ἀπολυτίκιον –  Ἦχος γ' Εὐφραινέσθω τὰ οὐράνια, ἀγαλλιάσθω τὰ ἐπίγεια, ὅτι ἐποίησε κράτος ἐν βραχίονι αὐτοῦ ὁ Κύριος, ἐπάτησε τῷ θανάτῳ τὸν θάνατον, πρωτότοκος τῶν νεκρῶν ἐγένετο, ἐκ κοιλίας Ἅδου ἐρρύσατο ἡμᾶς, καὶ παρέσχε κόσμῳ τὸ μέγα ἔλεος. Ἀπολυτίκιον – Ἦχος πλ. δ' Εὐλογητὸς εἶ, Χριστὲ ὁ Θεὸς ἡμῶν, ὁ πανσόφους τοὺς ἁλιεῖς ἀναδείξας, καταπέμψας αὐτοῖς τὸ Πνεῦμα τὸ ἅγιον, καὶ δι' αὐτῶν τὴν οἰκουμένην σαγηνεύσας, φιλάνθρωπε, δόξα σοι. Κοντάκιον –  Ἦχος πλ. δ' Εἰ καί ἐν τάφῳ κατῆλθες, ἀθάνατε, ἀλλά τοῦ ᾍδου καθεῖλες τήν δύναμιν· καί ἀνέστης ὡς νικητής, Χριστέ, ὁ Θεός, γυναιξί Μυροφόροις φθεγξάμενος, Χαίρετε· καί τοῖς σοῖς Ἀποστόλοις εἰρήνην δωρούμενος, ὁ τοῖς πεσοῦσι παρέχων ἀνάστασιν. Εἰς τό ᾽Εξαιρέτως: Ἀντὶ τοῦ «῎Αξιόν ἐστιν...», Ὁ Ἄγγελος ἐβόα τῇ Κεχαριτωμένῃ· Ἁγνή, Παρθένε χαῖρε, καί πάλιν ἐρῶ χαῖρε, ὁ σός Υἱός ἀνέστη, τριήμερος ἐκ τάφου.  Συμφώνως Παρθένε, σὲ μακαρίζομεν πιστοί, Χαῖρε πύλη Κυρίου, χαῖρε πόλις ἔμψυχε, χαῖρε, δι' ἦς ἡμῖν ἔλαμψε, σήμερον φῶς τοῦ ἐκ σοῦ τεχθέντος, τῆς ἐκ νεκρῶν ἀναστάσεως. APOLYTIKION resurrectional of the Tone of the day – Tone 3 Let all things above in heav’n rejoice, and let all things below on earth be glad.  With all the might and strength of His arm, and eternal deed the Lord did perform, beneath His feet He has trampled down death by death, and first born of the dead has He become.  From the womb of Hades has He delivered us and to all the world has granted His great redeeming mercy.               (DLH, p. 83) APOLYTIKION of our Church (Holy Trinity) – Tone 8 O Blessed are you, O Christ our God, who by sending down the Holy Spirit upon them, made the fishermen wise and through them illumined the world.  And unto you, the universe was ever drawn, all glory to you, O God. (DLH, p. 115)                                                                                                          APOLYTIKION of our Church (St. Nicholas) – Tone 4 (DLH, p. 110) As a yardstick of faith and an icon of gentleness; as a teacher of temperance, your actual deeds have declared you as being among your flock.  In this manner you gained by humility, things most sublime, and through poverty earned true wealth.  Father and our hierarch St. Nicholas intercede with Christ our God that our souls may be saved.                                                                                                      KONTAKION of Pascha  – Tone 8                                                   (FSD) Though You went down into the tomb, O Immortal One, yet you brought down the dominion of Hades, and You rose as the victor, O Christ our God; and you called out “Rejoice!” to the myrrhbearing women, and gave peace to Your apostles, O Lord, who to the fallen grant resurrection.                                                                                                                        Divine Liturgy Hymnal, p. 26:  TRISAGION. DLH, p. 54: At the Especially…, instead of “It is truly meet…” The angel cried aloud to the maiden full of grace: Rejoice, O pure Virgin, again I say Rejoice.  Your Son has resurrected from the grave on the third day.  With one voice, O Virgin, we the believers call you blest.  O rejoice, you the Lord’s gate, city animate, rejoice.  Lady, rejoice for today the light of the resurrection from the dead of the Son whom you have borne, has shone on us.                                                          (FSD) DLH, p. 66: KOINONIKON: instead of “Praise the Lord…” Body of Christ: receive the fountain of life; taste the source of immortal life.  Alleluia.                                                   (DLH, p. 104) DLH, p. 70: After Communion, instead of “We have seen the true light…”:   Tone 5  Christ is risen… DLH, p. 74:  Blessed be the Name of the Lord… DLH, p. 78: THE DISMISSAL IN DIALOG: May He Who is risen from the dead, Christ... PRIEST: Christ is risen… (in its entirety), and PEOPLE: Truly the Lord is risen!
‘Sin no more, lest something worse befall you!’  The Lord teaches, through the paralytic, a multitude.  For this directive is not just addressed to him but indeed to all of us, as well. If we ever lapse into passions, or tribulations, or needs, let none of us blame God. For God is impassible to evil, and does not tempt anyone. Listen, everyone, to this directive.  If heretofore you have been a fornicator, put away that passion; if you have been greedy, practice	almsgiving. Listen, if you have been a grabber: sin no more.  For God’s forgiveness is abounding, and His grace is unrestrained. Yet, do not assume that His immeasurable forgiveness is your excuse for ignoring His directive, nor consider that since God is forbearing you may go on sinning.  Instead, get rid of carnal passions from now on, and repeat today’s reading as if it was directed toward you at this opportune time.           ST CYRIL OF JERUSALEM (313-386)
