ΠΑΣXAΛIΟΣ YMNOΣ
Romanian: Hristos a înviat din morţi, cu moartea pe moarte călcând, şi celor din morminte viaţă dăruindu-le.
Tone 5  LAST SUNDAY!
Christ is risen from the dead, by death, trampling down upon death, and to those in the tombs He has granted life (thrice).
Divine Liturgy Hymnal, p. 16:  ANTIPHON I – Tone 2
1 Shout with joy to the Lord, all the earth.  [Psalm 65:1]
2 Sing now to his Name, give glory in his praises.  Say to God: How awesome are your deeds!  [Psalm 65:2-3]
3 Let all the earth worship you and sing to you.  [Psalm 65:4]
Through the intercessions of the Theotokos, O Savior, save us.

Divine Liturgy Hymnal, p. 18:  ANTIPHON II – Same tone
1 May God be gracious to us and bless us.  May He make his face to shine upon us and have mercy on us.  [Psalm 66:2]
2 May Your way be known upon the earth, may Your salvation be known among all the nations.  [Psalm 66:3]
3 May the peoples praise You, O God, may You be praised by all the peoples.  [Psalm 66:4]
Save us, O Son of God, Who is risen from the dead; who sing to You.  Alleluia.
Glory… Both now… O, only begotten Son…

Divine Liturgy Hymnal, p. 24:  ANTIPHON III – Tone 5
1 Let God arise and let his enemies be scattered, and let those who hate him flee from before his face.  [Psalm 67:2]
2 As smoke vanishes, so let them vanish; as wax melts at the presence of fire.  So let sinners perish at the presence of God; and let the righteous be glad.  [Psalm 67:3-4]
3 This is the day which the Lord has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it.  [Psalm 117:24]
Tone 5
Christ is risen from the dead, by death, trampling down upon death, and to those in the tombs He has granted life.
EISODIKON –Tone 2
In the great congregations bless God, our Lord since Israel’s founding.  [Psalm 67:27]
Save us, O Son of God, Who are risen from the dead; who sing to You. Alleluia.
APOLYTIKION resurrectional of the Tone of the day – Tone 5
Divine Liturgy Hymnal, p. 85:
Coeternal with the Father and the Spirit is the Word, who of a virgin was begotten for our salvation.  As the faithful we both praise and worship Him, for in the flesh did He consent to ascend upon the Cross, and death did He endure, and He raised unto life the dead through His all glorious resurrection.                                                         (DLH)
APOLYTIKION of our Church (Holy Trinity) Tone 8
O Blessed are you, O Christ our God, who by sending down the Holy Spirit upon them, made the fishermen wise and through them illumined the world.  And unto you, the universe was ever drawn, all glory to you, O God. (DLH, p. 115)
APOLYTIKION of our Church (St. Nicholas) Tone 4
As a yardstick of faith and an icon of gentleness; as a teacher of temperance, your actual deeds have declared you as being among your flock.  In this manner you gained by humility, things most sublime, and through poverty earned true wealth.  Father and our hierarch St. Nicholas intercede with Christ our God that our souls may be saved.
KONTAKION of Pascha – Tone 8                                      (DLH, p. 110)
Though you did descend to the tomb, O Immortal One, yet you overthrew the power of Hades. O Christ God, and you rose victorious from the dead! You greeted the ointment-bearing women with “Rejoice!” and bestowed peace upon your disciples, and resurrection to those who had fallen.
Divine Liturgy Hymnal, p. 26:  TRISAGION.
DLH, p. 54: AT THE Especially…, instead of “It is truly meet”,
The angel addressed the Maiden Full of Grace: O pure Virgin, rejoice; and again I shall say rejoice.  For your son has risen from the tomb on the third day.  Shine, shine, O new Jerusalem; for the glory of the Lord has dawned upon You.  Dance now and be glad, O Zion.  As for you, O pure Theotokos, delight in the Resurrection of your Son.
DLH, p. 66: KOINONIKON: instead of “Praise the Lord…”,
Partake of the Body of Christ, taste the fountain of immortality.  Alleluia.
DLH, p. 70: After Communion, instead of “We have seen the true light…”, Tone 5:
Christ is risen from the dead, by death, trampling down upon death, and to those in the tombs He has granted life.
DLH, p. 74:  Blessed be the Name of the Lord…
DLH, p. 78: DISMISSAL in dialog:  May He Who is risen…
Note:  We chant Christ is risen only until this Wednesday, Apodosis of Pascha, on which day eating fish is permitted.
PASCHAL HYMN
Russian: Христос воскресе из мертвых, смертию смерть поправ, и сущим во гробех живот даровав!
Arabic: Al masihu quma min bainil amwat, wa wati al maota bil maot wa wahabal hayat, lil la dhina fil qubur.
Quick to make a confession of faith, is the man who had been blind. For when he knew that the One visible to his eyes was truly the Only-Begotten Son, he worshipped Him as God. He would not have worshipped Him as God unless he believed Him to be God, having been prepared and led thus to think by what had happened unto himself, even the miraculous deed. And since we transferred all the
circumstances connected with the blind man to the history of the Gentiles, let us now speak again concerning this. See, I pray you, how the formerly blind man admirably carries out the type of the service of the Gentiles. For the faithful among the Gentiles know the spiritual service, which God says is truly and especially dear and sweet to Him.
                                                ST CYRIL OF ALEXANDRIA (378-444)
This insert is a gift from our Byzantine School.  We invite you to join us on the last Thursday of each month at 6 pm, as we explore the selection of liturgy “specials” for each week, and other issues related to the liturgical services of our Church. Next mtg: 5/31/15!
Please consult the Sunday Bulletin for our regular announcements, or contact Tasos Ioannides, ioanniam@uc.edu or (513) 556-3137.

APOLYTIKION of the Forerunner Tone 4
Now Christ has revealed to us your sacred head once again, a most holy treasure hidden underground for so long, O Prophet and Forerunner. Therefore we have assembled for the feast of its Finding, singing our God-inspired hymns in praise of the Savior, who saves us from destruction, by your earnest prayers to Him.                       (FSD)
