Ἀντίφωνον α´ –  Ἦχος β´ 1 Πάντα τὰ ἔθνη κροτήσατε χείρας ἀλαλάξατε τῷ θεῷ ἐν φωνή ἀγαλλιάσεως. 2 Ὅτι Κύριος ὕψιστος, φοβερός, βασιλεὺς μέγας ἐπὶ πᾶσαν τὴν γήν. 3 Ὑπέταξας λαοὺς ἡμῖν, καὶ ἔθνη ὑπὸ τοὺς πόδας ἡμῶν.     Ταῖς πρεσβείαις τῆς Θεοτόκου, Σῶτερ, σῶσον ἡμᾶς. Why did the Lord stand in the middle of the disciples and then walked with them? He did it to show Himself safe and sound, to demonstrate that His feet were healthy and able to walk steadily, the same feet pierced by nails, the same hands nailed to the cross, the same lanced side, with proofs of the wounds, so that they could ascertain His passion. He ate part of a broiled fish and some honey from a honey-comb, as these are also symbols of His mystery. That is, the Word of God united Himself to our nature, which had been a fish swimming in the fluidity of the lustful and sinful life,	and cleansed it with the unapproachable fire of His Divinity.  Our nature resembles honeycomb, inasmuch as it contains the noetic treasure placed in our body like honey in the honeycomb. He eagerly eats of these because His food is the salvation of each one of us who participate in the same nature. He does not eat it all, but only a part, because not all have believed in Him. He does not take it by Himself, but it is offered by the disciples, who only bring those who have believed to Him.                                                   ST GREGORY PALAMAS (1296-1357)
