APOLYTIKION resurrectional of the Tone of the
day – Tone 4
When the tidings of
the resurrection from the glorious angel was proclaimed unto the women
disciples, and our ancestral sentence also had been abolished, to the
Apostles with boasting did they proclaim that death is vanquished ever more
and Christ our God has risen from the dead, and granted to the world the
great mercy.(DLH,p. 84)
EISODIKON –Tone 2
Come,
let us worship and fall down before Christ. Save us, O Son of God, Who are

APOLYTIKION
of St. John Climacus – Tone 8
With the rivers of your tears, you cultivated the
barrenness of the desert, and with your sighs deep from within, painstaking
labors produced their fruits hundredfold; and you became a star illuminating
the world with your miracles, O John our devout father. Do ever supplicate the Lord, entreating
that our souls be saved. (FSD)
APOLYTIKION
of our Church (Holy Trinity) – Tone 8
O Blessed are you, O Christ our God, who by
sending down the Holy Spirit upon them, made the fishermen wise and through
them illumined the world. And unto
you, the universe was ever drawn, all glory to you, O God. (DLH,
p. 115)
APOLYTIKION
of our Church (St. Nicholas)– Tone 4 (DLH,
p. 110)
As a yardstick of faith and an icon of
gentleness; as a teacher of temperance, your actual deeds have declared you
as being among your flock. In this
manner you gained by humility, things most sublime, and through poverty
earned true wealth. Father and our
hierarch St. Nicholas intercede with Christ our God that our souls may be
saved.
KONTAKION – Tone 8
O Champion General, I your City now inscribe to you
Triumphant anthems as the tokens of my gratitude, Being rescued
from the terrors, O Theotokos.
Inasmuch as you have power unassailable, from all kinds of perils free
me so that unto you I may cry aloud:
Rejoice, O unwedded Bride.

The
Monk John of the Ladder (Climacus) is honored by
|
asceticism
in obedience to his spiritual father. After Abba died, John chose an hermit's
life, settling into a wild place called Tholos,
where he spent 40 years in deeds of silence, fasting, prayer and tears of
penitence. Gifted with a deeply penetrating mind, and having become wise by
profound spiritual experience, he lovingly received all who came to him so as
to guide them to salvation. At age 75, he was chosen as Abbot of the Sinai
monastery, which he governed for 4 years. The Lord granted the monk the grace-bearing
gifts of perspicacity and wonderworking. Ochrid; Fr S. Janos
