Ἦχος πλ. α´ Χριστός ἀνέστη ἐκ νεκρῶν, θανάτῳ θάνατον Hreestos anesti ek nekron, thanato thanaton πατήσας, καί τοῖς ἐν τοῖς μνήμασι ζωήν χαρισάμενος pateesas, ke tis en tis mneemasi zoeen charisamenos (τρίς). Ἀντίφωνον α´ –  Ἦχος β´ 1 Ἀλαλάξατε τῷ Κυρίῳ πᾶσα ἡ γῆ. 2 Ψάλατε δή τῷ ὀνόματι αὐτοῦ δότε δόξαν ἐν αἰνέσει αὐτοῦ.  Εἴπατε τῷ Θεῷ· Ὡς φοβερά τά ἔργα σου. 3 Πᾶσα ἡ γῆ προσκυνησάτωσάν Σοι καί ψαλάτωσάν Σοι.       Ταῖς πρεσβείαις τῆς Θεοτόκου, Σῶτερ, σῶσον ἡμᾶς. Ἀντίφωνον β´ – Ἦχος ὁ αὐτός 1 Ὁ Θεός οἰκτειρήσαι ἡμᾶς καί εὐλογήσαι ἡμᾶς. Ἐπιφά-ναι τό πρόσωπον αὐτοῦ ἐφ' ἡμᾶς καί ἐλεήσαι ἡμᾶς. 2 Τοῦ γνῶναι ἐν τῇ γῇ τήν ὁδόν Σου ἐν πᾶσιν ἔθνεσι τό σωτήριόν Σου. 3 Ἐξομολογησάσθωσάν Σοι λαοί, ὁ Θεός, ἐξομολογησάσθωσάν Σοι λαοί πάντες.     Σῶσον ἡμᾶς, Υἱὲ Θεοῦ, ὁ ἀναστὰς ἐκ νεκρῶν, ψάλλοντάς σοι· Ἀλληλούϊα. Δόξα... Καί νῦν... Ὁ Μονογενής Υἱός... Ἀντίφωνον γ´ –  Ἦχος πλ. α´ 1 Ἀναστήτω ὁ Θεός, καί διασκορπισθήτωσαν οἱ ἐχθροί αὐτοῦ, καί φυγέτωσαν ἀπό προσώπου αὐτοῦ οἱ μισοῦντες αὐτόν. 2 Ὡς ἐκλείπει καπνός, ἐκλιπέτωσαν, ὡς τήκεται κηρός ἀπό προσώπου πυρός.  Οὕτως ἀπολοῦνται οἱ ἁμαρτωλοί ἀπό προσώπου τοῦ Θεοῦ καί οἱ δίκαιοι εὐφρανθήτωσαν.  3 Αὕτη ἡ ἡμέρα, ἥν ἐποίησεν ὁ Κύριος, ἀγαλλιασώμεθα, καί εὐφρανθῶμεν ἐν αὐτῇ.                                  Ἦχος πλ. α´ Χριστός ἀνέστη ἐκ νεκρῶν, θανάτῳ θάνατον πατήσας, καί τοῖς ἐν τοῖς μνήμασι ζωήν χαρισάμενος. Ἀπολυτίκιον – Ἦχος β' Ὅτε κατῆλθες πρὸς τὸν θάνατον, ἡ Ζωὴ ἡ ἀθάνατος, τότε τὸν Ἅδην ἐνέκρωσας τὴ ἀστραπὴ τῆς θεότητος, ὅτε δὲ καὶ τοὺς τεθνεώτας ἐκ τῶν καταχθονίων ἀνέστησας, πᾶσαι αἱ Δυνάμεις τῶν ἐπουρανίων ἐκραύγαζον, Ζωοδότα Χριστὲ ὁ Θεὸς ἡμῶν δόξα σοί. Ἀπολυτίκιον – Ἦχος β' Ὁ εὐσχήμων Ἰωσήφ, ἀπὸ τοῦ ξύλου καθελῶν, τὸ ἄχραν-τόν σου Σῶμα, σινδόνι καθαρὰ εἰλήσας καὶ ἀρώμασιν, ἐν μνήματι καινῶ κηδεύσας ἀπέθετο, ἀλλὰ τριήμερος ἀνέστης Κύριε, παρέχων τῶ κόσμω τὸ μέγα ἔλεος. Ἀπολυτίκιον – Ἦχος β' Ταῖς μυροφόροις Γυναιξί, παρὰ τὸ μνῆμα ἐπιστάς, ὁ Ἄγγελος ἐβόα, Τὰ μύρα τοὶς θνητοῖς ὑπάρχει ἁρμόδια, Χριστὸς δὲ διαφθορᾶς ἐδείχθη ἀλλότριος, ἀλλὰ κραυγάσατε, Ἀνέστη ὁ Κύριος, παρέχων τῶ κόσμω τὸ μέγα ἔλεος. Εἰς τό ᾽Εξαιρέτως: Ἀντὶ τοῦ «῎Αξιόν ἐστιν...», Ὁ Ἄγγελος ἐβόα τῇ Κεχαριτωμένῃ· Ἁγνή, Παρθένε χαῖρε, καί πάλιν ἐρῶ χαῖρε, ὁ σός Υἱός ἀνέστη, τριήμερος ἐκ τάφου.  Φωτίζου, φωτίζου, ἡ νέα Ἱερουσαλήμ, ἡ γὰρ δόξα Κυρίου ἐπὶ σὲ ἀνέτειλε, Χόρευε νύν, καὶ ἀγάλλου Σιών, σὺ δὲ ἁγνή, τέρπου Θεοτόκε, ἐν τῇ ἐγέρσει τοῦ τόκου σου. APOLYTIKION resurrectional of the tone of the day – Tone 2 When You descended to the realm of death You as life immortal, rendered to Hades a mortal blow by Your all radiant divinity.  And when You from infernal depths and the darkness below did raise the dead, all the hosts of heavens’ powers did proclaim and cry out: O life giving Christ and our God we give glory.                          (DLH, p.81) APOLYTIKION of Joseph of Arimathea – Tone 2 When he took down Your immaculate Body from the Cross, the honorable Joseph wrapped it in a clean linen shroud with spices and laid it for burial in a new tomb. But on the third day You arose, O Lord, and granted the world Your great mercy.                                                                                  (FSD) APOLYTIKION of the Holy Myrrhbearers – Tone 2 The Angel standing at the sepulcher cried out and said to the ointment bearing women: The ointments are appropriate for mortal men, but Christ has been shown to be a stranger to decay. So go and cry aloud, The Lord has risen and granted the world His great mercy.                      (FSD) APOLYTIKION of our Church (Holy Trinity) – Tone 8 O Blessed are you, O Christ our God, who by sending down the Holy Spirit upon them, made the fishermen wise and through them illumined the world.  And unto you, the universe was ever drawn, all glory to you, O God.  (DLH, p. 115) APOLYTIKION of our Church (St. Nicholas) – Tone 4 (DLH, p. 110) As a yardstick of faith and an icon of gentleness; as a teacher of temperance, your actual deeds have declared you as being among your flock.  In this manner you gained by humility, things most sublime, and through poverty earned true wealth.  Father and our hierarch St. Nicholas intercede with Christ our God that our souls may be saved. KONTAKION of Pascha  – Tone 8 Though you did descend to the tomb, O Immortal One, yet you overthrew the power of Hades. O Christ God, and you rose victorious from the dead! You greeted the ointment-bearing women with “Rejoice!” and bestowed peace upon your disciples, and resurrection to those who had fallen. Divine Liturgy Hymnal (DLH), p. 26:  TRISAGION. DLH, p. 54: AT THE Especially, instead of “It is truly meet...” The angel addressed the Maiden Full of Grace: O pure Virgin, rejoice; and again I shall say rejoice.  For your son has risen from the tomb on the third day.  Shine, shine, O new Jerusalem; for the glory of the Lord has dawned upon You.  Dance now and be glad, O Zion.  As for you, O pure Theotokos, delight in the Resurrection of your Son. DLH, p. 66: KOINONIKON: instead of “Praise the Lord…” Partake of the Body of Christ, taste the fountain of immortality.  Alleluia. DLH, p. 70: After Communion, instead of “We have seen…” Tone 5  –  Christ is risen… DLH, p. 74: Blessed be the Name of the Lord… DLH, p. 78: THE DISMISSAL IN DIALOG: Christ is risen! PEOPLE: Truly, He is risen! (Thrice) PRIEST: Glory to His holy third day resurrection! PEOPLE: We worship His third day resurrection! PRIEST: Christ is risen… (in its entirety), and PEOPLE: Truly the Lord is risen!
The ardor and continual love of the Holy Myrrhbearers for the Lord serves as an example for our love for Him. We also should strengthen in our hearts the true self-denying love for our Savior. Nothing could separate us from Him, neither things present nor things to come, neither life nor death, neither angels nor men. Like the holy women, who,	though wounded with fierce grief when their Lord was crucified and buried, searched for unique comfort in that tomb where all their happiness and life were hidden and found this desired comfort, so it is that each Christian soul should seek consolation in the sorrows and grief at the cross and tomb of the Savior.                S.V.
