APOLYTIKION
resurrectional of the Tone of the day, Tone 4
When
the tidings of the resurrection from the glorious angel was proclaimed unto
the women disciples, and our ancestral sentence also had been abolished, to

APOLYTIKION
of Sunday Before Nativity –
Tone 4
O Bethlehem, prepare, Eden is opened unto all.*
And be ready, Ephratà, for the Tree of life* has in the grotto blossomed
forth from the Virgin.* Indeed her womb is shown to be spiritually* a
Paradise, in which is found the God-planted Tree.* And if we eat from it we
shall live, and shall not die, as did Adam of old.* Christ is born, so that
He might raise up* the formerly fallen image. (FSD)
APOLYTIKION
of Daniel, Prophet, and the 3 Youths –
Tone 4
Great are the achievements of faith! In the
fountain of flame, as by the water of rest, the three holy youths rejoiced,
and the Prophet Daniel was revealed shepherding lions like sheep. At their
intercessions, Christ God, save our souls. (FEL)
APOLYTIKION
of our Church (Holy Trinity) – Tone 8
O Blessed are you, O Christ our God, who by
sending down the Holy Spirit upon them, made the fishermen wise and through
them illumined the world. And unto
you, the universe was ever drawn, all glory to you, O God. (DLH, p. 115)
APOLYTIKION
of our Church (St. Nicholas) – Tone 4(DLH,
p. 110)
As a yardstick of faith and an icon of gentleness;
as a teacher of temperance, your actual deeds have declared you as being
among your flock. In this manner you
gained by humility, things most sublime, and through poverty earned true
wealth. Father and our hierarch St.
Nicholas intercede with Christ our God that our souls may be saved.
KONTAKION of Advent
Season – Tone 3
Lo, the Virgin on this day arrives unto a cave,
to give birth ineffably to the Word primeval.
Sing and dance, all of creation, at these good tidings. Glorify, with angelic hosts and the
shepherds, the One who condescended, seen as a new-born babe, yet who is
eternally God.

cool the flames, and the lads remained unharmed. The emperor, upon seeing
this, commanded them to come out, and was converted to the True God. Daniel’s
prophetic vision about the seventy of weeks (Dan. 9: 24-27) tells the world
about the signs of the First and the Second Comings of the Lord Jesus Christ
and is connected with those events (Dan. 12: 1-12). Daniel interceded for his
people before the emperor Cyrus, who esteemed him highly, and who decreed
freedom for the Israelite people.
