Ἀντίφωνον α´ – Ἦχος β´
1 Μγας Κριος κα ανετς σφδρα.
2 Δεδοξασμνα λαλθη περ σο πλις το Θεο.
3 Θες ν τας βρεσιν ατς γινσκεται.  Καθπερ κοσαμεν, οτω κα εδομεν.
     Ταῖς πρεσβείαις τῆς Θεοτόκου, Σῶτερ, σῶσον ἡμᾶς.



Ἀντίφωνον β´ – Ἦχος ὁ αὐτός
1 Ἡγίασε τὸ σκήνωμα αὐτοῦ ὕψιστος.  Ἁγιωσύνη καὶ μεγαλοπρέπεια ἐν τῷ ἁγιάσματι αὐτοῦ.
2 Αὕτη πύλη Κυρίου, δίκαιοι εἰσελεύσονται ἐν αὐτῇ.
3 Ἅγιος ὁ ναός σου, θαυμαστὸς ἐν δικαιοσύνῃ.  
 
Σῶσον ἡμᾶς, Υἱὲ Θεοῦ, ὁ ἀναστὰς ἐκ νεκρῶν, ψάλλοντάς σοι· Ἀλληλούϊα.

Ἐξ ὕψους κατῆλθες εὔσπλαγχνος, ταφὴν καταδέξω τριήμερον, ἵνα ἡμᾶς ἐλευθερώσῃς τῶν παθῶν, ζωὴ καὶ Ἀνάστασις ἡμῶν, Κύριε δόξα σοι.

On this day, our God’s benevolent pleasure is ushered in, and the Lord’s salvation for humanity is declared.  In the temple of God, the Virgin is boldly made manifest, and before all the Christ she is fore-witnessing.  To her let us all now cry with a mighty voice:  Hail you, the fulfillment of the Creator’s dispensation.

Come, let us worship and fall down before Christ. Save us, O Son of God, Who are risen from the dead; who sing to You. Alleluia.

APOLYTIKION resurrectional of the tone of the day – Tone 8
From on high did You descend, O merciful Lord.  For us did You endure three days in the tomb, that we may be released from passions in this world, You who are our resurrection and our life.  Glory unto You, O Lord.   (DLH, p. 89)

As a yardstick of faith and an icon of gentleness; as a teacher of temperance, your actual deeds have declared you as being among your flock.  In this manner you gained by humility, things most sublime, and through poverty earned true wealth.  Father and our hierarch St. Nicholas intercede with Christ our God that our souls may be saved.
KONTAKION of the Entry of the Theotokos – Tone 4
The most pure temple of our Lord and our Savior, the very precious chamber of His and virgin, the sacred treasure-chest of the glory of God: enters on this very day in the House of the Lord, ushering with her the grace in the all-holy Spirit.  She whom all God’s angels laud and praise, for she is truly, the heav’nly tabernacle.

Sometimes, two opposing mistresses have possession of a man, avarice and luxuriousness. Avarice says, "Keep;" luxuriousness, says, "Spend." Under two mistresses bidding and exacting diverse things what can you do? They have both their mode of address. And when you begin to be unwilling to obey them, and to take a step towards your liberty; because they have no power to command, they use caresses. And their caresses are more to be guarded against than their commands. What says avarice? Keep for yourself, keep for your children. If you should be in want, no one will give to you. Live not for the time present only; consult for the future. On the other hand is luxuriousness. Live while you may. Do good to your own soul. Die you must, and you know not when; you know not to whom you shall leave what you have, or who shall possess it. You are taking the bread out of your own mouth, and perhaps after
your death your heir will not so much as place a cup of wine upon your tomb; or if so be he place a cup, he will drink himself drunk with it, not a drop will come down to you. Do well therefore to your own soul, when and while you can. But O free man, called unto liberty, be weary, be weary of your servitude to such mistresses as these. Acknowledge your Redeemer, your Deliverer. Serve Him, He enjoins easier things, He enjoins not things contrary one to another. I am bold further to say: avarice and luxuriousness did enjoin upon you contrary things, so that you could not obey them both. Now let your Lord and your Redeemer come forth, and He shall say the same, and yet no contrary things. If you will not, His house has no need of an unwilling servant.
