APOLYTIKION
of Conception by St. Anna –
Tone 4
Today the bonds of childlessness are broken. For
hearing the prayers of Joachim and Anna, God promised that against all hope
they would give birth to the Maiden of God. He, the Uncircumscribed, would be
born of her, when He would become man, and by the Angel's example, He
commands us to call to her: "Rejoice, Maiden full of grace, the Lord is
with you." (FSD)
APOLYTIKION
of our Church (Holy Trinity) – Tone 8
O Blessed are you, O Christ our God, who by
sending down the Holy Spirit upon them, made the fishermen wise and through
them illumined the world. And unto
you, the universe was ever drawn, all glory to you, O God. (DLH, p. 115)
APOLYTIKION
of our Church (St. Nicholas) – Tone 4(DLH,
p. 110)
As a yardstick of faith and an icon of
gentleness; as a teacher of temperance, your actual deeds have declared you
as being among your flock. In this
manner you gained by humility, things most sublime, and through poverty
earned true wealth. Father and our
hierarch St. Nicholas intercede with Christ our God that our souls may be
saved.

to give birth ineffably to the Word primeval.
Sing and dance, all of creation, at these good tidings. Glorify, with angelic hosts and the shepherds,
the One who condescended, seen as a new-born babe, yet who is eternally God.

Gabriel, who told St. Joachim to return home, where he would find his wife
waiting for him in the city gate. When they saw one another, they embraced,
and this image is the traditional icon of their feast. St. Anna conceived shortly
