The stone that had been sealed before your tomb by the Jews, and the soldiers guarding did watch o’er Your pure and sacred body, O Savior the third day You arose and unto the world did You give life.  Whereby all the heavenly powers did proclaim that You are the giver of life.  Glory unto our resurrected Christ.  Glory unto Your Kingdom.  Glory to Your dispensation O You alone who loves all.

EISODIKON – Tone 2
Come, let us worship and fall down before Christ. Save us, O Son of God, Who are risen from the dead; who sing to You. Alleluia.

APOLYTIKION of Sunday Before Nativity   Tone 4
O Bethlehem, prepare, Eden is opened unto all.* And be ready, Ephratà, for the Tree of life* has in the grotto blossomed forth from the Virgin.* Indeed her womb is shown to be spiritually* a Paradise, in which is found the God-planted Tree.* And if we eat from it we shall live, and shall not die, as did Adam of old.* Christ is born, so that He might raise up* the formerly fallen image.                       (FSD)
APOLYTIKION of Daniel, Prophet, and the 3 Youths   Tone 4
Great are the achievements of faith! In the fountain of flame, as by the water of rest, the three holy youths rejoiced, and the Prophet Daniel was revealed shepherding lions like sheep. At their intercessions, Christ God, save our souls.                                                                                       (FEL)
APOLYTIKION of our Church (Holy Trinity) Tone 8
O Blessed are you, O Christ our God, who by sending down the Holy Spirit upon them, made the fishermen wise and through them illumined the world.  And unto you, the universe was ever drawn, all glory to you, O God. (DLH, p. 115)
APOLYTIKION of our Church (St. Nicholas) Tone 4(DLH, p. 110)
As a yardstick of faith and an icon of gentleness; as a teacher of temperance, your actual deeds have declared you as being among your flock.  In this manner you gained by humility, things most sublime, and through poverty earned true wealth.  Father and our hierarch St. Nicholas intercede with Christ our God that our souls may be saved.
KONTAKION of Advent Season – Tone 3
Lo, the Virgin on this day arrives unto a cave, to give birth ineffably to the Word primeval.  Sing and dance, all of creation, at these good tidings.  Glorify, with angelic hosts and the shepherds, the One who condescended, seen as a new-born babe, yet who is eternally God.

Divine Liturgy Hymnal, p. 78:  THE DISMISSAL:
May He Who is risen from the dead, Christ...
The holy and righteous Joseph the Betrothed, also referred to as Joseph of Nazareth, was the foster-father of Jesus Christ (Mt 1:16; Lk 3:23). Not much is known of Joseph except that he was "of the House of David" and lived in the town of Nazareth. His date of death is unknown, though he was still living when Jesus was 12 years old. He was betrothed to the Virgin Mary at the time that Mary conceived Jesus. Luke says that he lived at Nazareth in Galilee (Lk 2:4). He is called a "just man". He was by trade a carpenter (Mt 13:55). It is probable that Joseph died before Jesus entered on his
public ministry. Jesus Christ is described as being the brother of James, Justus, Jude, and Simon, and several sisters (Mk 6:3; Mt 13:55). A tradition at least as early as the second century, still adopted by the Orthodox Church, explains that these "brothers and sisters" were from Joseph's marriage to Salome, who left him a widower before he was betrothed to Mary, and so making them step-brothers and step-sisters. He was the older brother to Cleopas, who was also married to a woman named Mary.
