APOLYTIKION resurrectional of the Tone of the day – Tone 4
When the tidings of the resurrection from the glorious angel was proclaimed unto the women disciples, and our ancestral sentence also had been abolished, to the Apostles with boasting did they proclaim that death is vanquished ever more and Christ our God has risen from the dead, and granted to the world the great mercy.  (DLH, p. 84)

APOLYTIKION of St Phocas, Hieromartyr Tone 4
Becoming a partner with the Apostles in way of life and successor to their thrones, O God-inspired Saint, in the active life you found an entrance to contemplation. Hence you rightly expounded the word of truth, and you shed your blood in struggling for the faith, O Hieromartyr Phocas. Intercede with Christ our God, beseeching that our souls be saved.                                                                       (FSD)
APOLYTIKION of our Church (Holy Trinity) Tone 8
O Blessed are you, O Christ our God, who by sending down the Holy Spirit upon them, made the fishermen wise and through them illumined the world.  And unto you, the universe was ever drawn, all glory to you, O God. (DLH, p. 115)
APOLYTIKION of our Church (St. Nicholas) Tone 4(DLH, p. 110)
As a yardstick of faith and an icon of gentleness; as a teacher of temperance, your actual deeds have declared you as being among your flock.  In this manner you gained by humility, things most sublime, and through poverty earned true wealth.  Father and our hierarch St. Nicholas intercede with Christ our God that our souls may be saved.
KONTAKION – Tone 2
A protection of us Christians unshamable, intercession before our Creator unwavering.  Please, reject not, the earnest cries of those who have transgressed; but, come to us for you are good, your loving help offer to us, who in faith cry out to you: Hasten to intercede, and speed now to supplicate, as a protection for all time, Theotokos, for those who honor you.

Divine Liturgy Hymnal, p. 78:  THE DISMISSAL:
May He Who is risen from the dead, Christ...
“What do you mean you belong to the Greek Orthodox Church?” Are you identifying with a nation other than that of America? Of course, not! Greek denotes that I am an Orthodox Christian, a spiritual descendant of the Byzantines, and they called themselves Roman! They considered themselves the authentic heirs of the Roman Empire, but also of the deposit of the faith claimed today by those in communion with the Bishop of Rome.  Recall, that it was not until Charlemagne (700 AD) that that Bishop regained the splendor he had once enjoyed as the universal primus inter pares (first among equals) of the original, united, Church established by Christ, to which I still belong.  The Ottomans, respecting the imperial roots of Orthodox people and wishing to pit them against their
western (Roman Catholic) brethren, corrupted their self-designation from Roman to Rum (phonetically, Roum).  The Ecumenical Patriarchate in Constantinople identifies itself in Turkey as the “Rum Patrikanesi”, i.e., the Patriarchate of the Rums, i.e., of the Roman Orthodox. It is only by a stretch of historical, sociological and geographical evolution that Rum (i.e., Roman Orthodox) is often rendered today as “Greek”.  In fact, strictly understood, “Greek” robs “Rum” of its claims to universality and catholicity, just like “Roman” (in Roman Catholic) would, if it were restricted to the modern capital of Italy. Understood in a theological, not ethnic, sense, “Greek” is the New Testament analogue to the Old testament “Hebrew”.
