Ἀντίφωνον α´ –  Ἦχος β´
1 Θες μου πρσχες μοι, να τ γκατλιπς με; Mακρν π τς σωτηρας μου ο λγοι τν παραπτωμτων μου. 
2 Θες μου κεκρξομαι μρας, κα οκ εἰσακούσῃ, καὶ νυκτός, καὶ οὐκ εἰς ἄνοιαν ἐμοί. Σ δ ν γίῳ κατοικες, παινος το σραλ.
3 Πάντες οἱ θεωροῦντές με ἐξεμυκτήρισάν με, ἐλάλησαν ἐν χείλεσιν, ἐκίνησαν κεφαλήν. Περιεκύκλωσάν με μόσχοι πολλοί, ταῦροι πίονες περιέσχον με.
     Ταῖς πρεσβείαις τῆς Θεοτόκου, Σῶτερ, σῶσον ἡμᾶς.

Ἀντίφωνον β´ –  Ἦχος ὁ αὐτός
1 Ἴνα τὶ ὁ Θεὸς ἀπώσω εἰς τέλος; ὠργίσθη ὁ θυμός σου
ἐπὶ πρόβατα νομῆς σου;
2 Mνήσθητι τῆς συναγωγῆς σου, ἧς ἐκτήσω ἀπ᾿ ἀρχῆς. Ἐλυτρώσω ῥάβδον κληρονομίας σου,  ὄρος Σιὼν τοῦτο, ὃ κατεσκήνωσας ἐν αὐτῷ.
3 Ὁ δὲ Θεὸς Βασιλεὺς ἡμῶν πρὸ αἰώνων, εἰργάσατο σωτηρίαν ἐν μέσῳ τῆς γῆς».
    Σῶσον ἡμᾶς, Υἱὲ Θεοῦ, ὁ σαρκὶ σταυρωθείς, ψάλλοντάς σοι· Ἀλληλούϊα.

1 Ὁ Κύριος ἐβασίλευσεν, ὀργιζέσθωσαν λαοί· ὁ καθήμενος ἐπὶ τῶν Χερουβίμ, σαλευθήτω ἡ γῆ.  Κύριος ἐν Σιὼν μέγας καὶ ὑψηλός ἐστιν ἐπὶ πάντας τοὺς λαούς.
2 Ἐξομολογησάσθωσαν τῷ ὀνόματί σου τῷ μεγάλῳ,
ὅτι φοβερὸν καὶ ἅγιόν ἐστιν.

Ἀπολυτίκιον –  Ἦχος βαρὺς
Κατέλυσας τῷ Σταυρῷ σου τὸν θάνατον, ἠνέωξας τῷ Ληστ τὸν Παράδεισον, τῶν Μυροφόρων τὸν θρῆνον μετέβαλες, καὶ τος σος Ἀποστόλοις κηρύττειν ἐπέταξας, ὅτι ἀνέστης Χριστὲ ὁ Θεός, παρέχων τῷ κόσμ τὸ μέγα ἔλεος.

Εὐλογητὸς εἶ, Χριστὲ ὁ Θεὸς ἡμῶν, ὁ πανσόφους τοὺς ἁλιεῖς ἀναδείξας, καταπέμψας αὐτοῖς τὸ Πνεῦμα τὸ ἅγιον, καὶ δι' αὐτῶν τὴν οἰκουμένην σαγηνεύσας, φιλάνθρωπε, δόξα σοι.

Κανόνα πίστεως καὶ εἰκόνα πραότητος, ἐγκρατείας διδάσκαλον, ἀνέδειξέ σε τῇ ποίμνῃ σου, ἡ τῶν πραγμάτων ἀλήθεια· διὰ τοῦτο ἐκτήσω τῇ ταπεινώσει τὰ ὑψηλά, τῇ πτωχείᾳ τὰ πλούσια, Πάτερ Ἱεράρχα Νικόλαε· πρέσβευε Χριστῷ τῷ Θεῷ, σωθῆναι τὰς ψυχὰς ἡμῶν.
Κοντκιον –  χος δ'  Αὐτόμελον
Ὁ ὑψωθεὶς ἐν τῷ Σταυρῷ ἑκουσίως, τῇ ἐπωνύμῳ σου καινῇ πολιτείᾳ, τοὺς οἰκτιρμούς σου δώρησαι, Χριστὲ ὁ Θεός. Εὔφρανον ἐν τῇ δυνάμει σου, τοὺς πιστοὺς Βασιλεῖς ἡμῶν, νίκας χορηγῶν αὐτοῖς, κατὰ τῶν πολεμίων, τὴν συμμαχίαν ἔχοιεν τὴν σήν, ὅπλον εἰρήνης, ἀήττητον τρόπαιον.

As a yardstick of faith and an icon of gentleness; as a teacher of temperance, your actual deeds have declared you as being among your flock.  In this manner you gained by humility, things most sublime, and through poverty earned true wealth.  Father and our hierarch St. Nicholas intercede with Christ our God that our souls may be saved.
KONTAKION of the feast of the Elevation – Tone 4
You who were lifted on the Cross voluntarily, O Christ our God, bestow Your tender compassion upon Your new community to which You gave Your name.  Make our faithful governors to be glad in Your power, granting them the victories against their adversaries.  May they have that alliance which is Yours, the shield of peace, the trophy invincible.                                                                                           (FSD)

Intellectual faith does not suffice, but confession of faith with one’s mouth is required as well. Since man himself is two-fold, let his sanctification be two-fold as well. The soul is sanctified by faith, but the body is sanctified by confessing. Whosoever therefore shall be ashamed to confess that the Crucified One is his God, of him also shall the Crucified One be ashamed. For the Lord shall judge that man to be an unworthy servant, when He comes with glory, escorted by the angels, and no longer in lowly form. At the second coming He will not appear, as He did before, to be of base origin and circumstance, and an object of
scorn. Since He speaks of His own glory, He desires to show that He is not vainly boasting, and says, There be some of them that stand here, namely, Peter, James, and John, who shall not die until I have shown them at the Transfiguration the glory with which I shall appear at the second coming. For the Transfiguration was nothing less than a foreshadowing of the second coming, and as He appeared in radiance then, so will He shine at the second coming, as will also all the righteous. No one is kept in hell as a punishment. Rather, it is the weight of his own sins which holds him there.         Blessed Theophylact of Ochrid (c. 1100)
